I can't quite believe we are heading into the final week of this half term, time flies when you're working hard and having fun! The children have settled really well into Y Garth, are becoming more independent and have adapted well to our class routines.
Health and Well-Being Week was a great success and the children thoroughly enjoyed : ) Lots of fun was had on Shwmae Day too!
Saesneg / Language, Literacy and Communication
We have received our class story back from the storyteller at Cardiff Castle and it is fantastic : ) I can't wait to share it with the children tomorrow and I know they will be amazed when they hear themselves on the recording. The story they created was based around a witch so we will be using this character as our focus for literacy this week. We will be exploring the story below:
Our friend behind the magic door needs our help! Can we make a magic potion to make the fire-breathing dragon disappear?
Write a list of ingredients for your potion. Can you write the sounds you hear in each word?
Mathemateg / Maths
CLIC warm-up sessions:
Recite numbers up to 20 and beyond, forwards and backwards and from different starting points.
Recap and practise our double learn-its:
1+1=2 and 2+2=4
We will be exploring simple capacity, comparing containers and measuring ingredients to make our own group magic potion.
Other areas of learning:
Look at the different parts of a castle - compare with a house.
Autumn colour mixing with a partner.
Welly Wednesday - Find your favourite tree. What does it look like in the autumn?
Dydd Mercher / Wednesday
Welly Wednesday and PE. Please remove any jewellery beforehand.
New home-school task.
Dydd Gwener / Friday

Readin Café - Session 3
The fun run will be held today. Children may wear their kit to school today but DO NOT need to bring in a £1 again.
Last day of term.
Water bottles
Just a reminder that as we are a healthy school, only water should be provided for the children to have in class throughout the day. On Friday, we had a missing green water bottle. If your child has brought it home by mistake, please can you return it tomorrow?
See you in the morning.
