Home Learning Reminder.

Make a 2D seagull, pirate face or pirate ship for our pirate display. Collage, paint, colour. It’s up to you. Remember it’s the childrens’ work and we value all of their contributions.

Please can this home learning be in by Tuesday the 8th of May.

In addition, we recommend that you read every day with your child for just 5 minutes and go over reading the yellow High Frequency words. I will reassess your child’s ability to read these words after the 8th of May. If you are confident that your child is able to read all the Reception words then please ask for year 1/year 2 words.

I am delighted that every child in our class is able to read and every single child has worked hard at developing their reading skills. Lots of children are at different levels and on different stages to suit their abilities. The important point is that they are well away on their reading journey and we must continue to support and encourage them to enjoy it. Daily regular practice makes an enormous difference at this young age. Please date and sign reading diaries so that I can track how much support they are having at home.

There are still children who regularly forget to bring their reading books and diaries in to school every day. Please try to encourage them to remember.

Many thanks for your support.
Mrs James.
