Safer Internet Day 2018 will take place this week with the theme...
'Create, Connect and Share Respect:
a better internet starts with you.'
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of schools and organisations join together to raise awareness of online safety issues and run events and activities right across the UK.
Over the past few years we have supported this global campaign at Penygawsi. The children always enjoy the activities and workshops facilitated by their teachers and receive a very important message on how to become a good digital citizen.
This year we are asking parents and families to join in with our learning and have created an evening event called #familylearning2gether.
Please join us on Thursday the 8th of February at 6pm in our school hall for an information and learning experience with your child. This is not a 'chalk and talk' session but an opportunity to work with your child in their classroom, joining in and learning together in activities that promote good digital citizenship.
Please ask your child to let their class teacher know if you will be attending as a family. Parents with more than one child in the school will be able to share the experience with all their children, by having the flexibility to attend each child's workshop by moving classes during the event. The workshops will run for around 40 minutes.
We look forward to seeing you all and hope to have your support,
Mrs James and The Digital Leaders Pupil Voice Group.
