Have Your Say

We’ve been contacted by UNICEF about a really important survey that they would like children and young people  complete which will tell Welsh Government how they've felt about lockdown: how it's impacted on their health; any worries they've had; how they think it might affect their education; and also any positives they've had from it. It’s a joint survey from the Welsh Government, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Youth Parliament for Wales / Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru and Children in Wales.

The survey has been developed and tested with children and young people.

It will help Government to respond in the best way to the situation as it develops, and to inform how they work with and talk to children and young people during this crisis and beyond. We need your help to ensure that as many children as possible have a chance to have their say.

Please note that the survey makes clear where children can seek help if they are affected by any of the topics in the survey. 

The survey is aimed at child and young people aged 7 to 18, there is a picture activity for children aged 3 - 7. Once your child have completed the picture activity, please email the form (or a photo of it) to post@childcomwales.org.uk. Or, you could send them a private message on Twitter @childcomwales or on their Facebook page.

The survey is here. We'd expect it to take children 15 minutes to complete and they can do it on any device by following the link. It’ll be open for just 2 weeks and closes on 27 May. We aim to get results out as soon as we can after the survey closes.

This is an excellent opportunity for our pupils to have their views heard, especially as the UNCRC states that all children have the right to freely express their views and to be listened to.
