Our first week back after half term is Welsh week. We will be learning more about what it means to be Welsh and exploring some Welsh traditions.
Over the half term holiday, can you look for some evidence of Welsh in the local area and find out more about things we associate with Wales and being Welsh?
Some ideas:
- Can you find some Welsh words on signs and buildings in the local area?
- What evidence of Welsh can you find in a local supermarket?
- Can you find a Welsh flag?
- Make and taste some Welsh cakes or another traditional Welsh recipe.
- Make a leek, daffodil or Welsh dragon.
- Visit a famous Welsh landmark such as a castle, mine or museum.
- Play or watch a game of rugby.
- Find out about a famous Welsh person - can you find a statue?
- Visit the library to find some books about Wales.
You can record these activities however you wish. Draw a picture or take a photo, write some words/a sentence in your learning log or bring in something you have made. We will be sharing our news on the first day back so you can tell us all about your Welsh adventures.
Have a lovely half term break.
