WB 22/10/18 Week 8.

What colour are jewels?

This week we have a rich task week where we have to help Queen Sparkle solve her problem before her sparkle ball on Friday.

Rich task: Queen Sparkle problem. Queen sparkle needs a new crown for the ball. She wants to have a crown with 10 jewels (up to 20 for children who have good consolidation of number) and she likes them to be in a pattern. Her favourite jewels are green, pink and clear/white. Queen Sparkle doesn't know the names of her favourite jewels and would really like to know what they are called? Queen Sparkle also wants to know if we have a favourite colour and whether there are any jewels in that colour? How can we help queen sparkle? What do we need to do?
Throughout the week the children will participate in a variety of activities in a cross curricular way to help Queen Sparkle get a new crown for the ball. The learning will be directed by the children and we will work with their suggestions with how to solve the problem.
Friday 26th of October 2018:  Please can the children wear colourful clothes to school to celebrate this half terms work by having a Queen Sparkle ball/party.
Tomorrow the children will come home with a permission slip regarding party food for the party of Friday. Please can you return it by Wednesday.
