Anti Bullying Week...Our Work.

We had a very productive week last week and produced some lovely work, thoughtful discussion and we had opportunity to develop empathy with others.

I know the children have spoken to many of you about the work we covered. It was very interesting to think about how we see other people. Although people look so different, have disabilities and specific needs, are older or younger that us, we discussed how we must treat others in a way we would wish to be treated ourselves- with respect and dignity.

We looked at many different photos of people and discussed how they are similar and different from ourselves. We then sorted the photos into categories. We put all the photos on a washing line in the classroom to remind us of the work.

The story about Snappy Shark was very thought provoking. We enjoyed revisiting this throughout the week and thinking how each character must have felt. We also worked out what the characters could have done to make sure that they were no longer upset by others actions.

Sam's Story.
A little girl/boy called Sam is 10 years old and is being bullied by others. We thought about what Sam could look like and made our own avatars. We gave Sam a voice and something to say.

We thought about why the children thought Sam was being bullied and how Sam felt. We then went onto make a helping hand. We thought of who we would ask for help if we were being bullied and treated unfairly.

We coloured in a hand and wrote the names of 5 people in the fingers of people we would talk to and ask for help.
