Seven children have been given reading books with words. Over the next two weeks during guided reading I will be assessing your child's confidence whilst attempting to read a book with words. If they are confident with the high frequency words, attempting to build and sound out and are happy with attempting to decode words I will give them a book.
I've a good feeling that by the end of next week this number will rise significantly.
Keep practising the yellow high frequency words and sounds every day for 5 minutes. It really makes a big difference to your child's reading development.
