Home Learning.

There are three parts to the next home learning task.

Firstly...
This week I would like the children to practise writing their names in their Learning Logs.
They can do this in a variety of interesting and fun ways.

  • use coloured pencils/chalks/crayons.
  • make a cardboard puzzle with the letters of they names on each piece and practise putting it together.
  • overwrite an adults writing- write over an adults writing.
  • underwrite and adults writing - copy their name underneath.
Secondly...
Practise their letter recognition and know as many letters of the alphabet as possible.

Thirdly...
Practise reading the yellow high frequency words. The list we have covered so far are…

a, all, am, and, are, at, away, big, can, cat, come, dad, day, dog, for

get, go, going, he, I

I will be assessing their knowledge of these words and alphabet sounds over the next few weeks and will discuss the outcomes with parents during parent evenings.

This home learning task will be stuck in your child's learning log and handed to you on Wednesday to be handed in the following Monday.
Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs James.
