Forming these letters with pencils, chalk, shaving foam, dough, paint, sand.
High frequency words
a, all, am, and, are.
Book- What makes a Rainbow by Betty Schwartz.
Using learnt, relevant and new vocabulary in context. Talking about their own experiences- Discussing weather and rainbows. Then as a group making a rainbow with a variety of resources and talking about how they did it.
Guided reading Activities.
Reading a book, act like a reader, discussing plot, characters and what will happen next.
Writing high frequency words on white boards. Writing letters on whiteboards, playing language games, completing jigsaw puzzles. Listen to an audio book.
Mathematic Development.
This weeks maths includes development of fine motor control.
Making Queen Sparkle a tower of up to 20 or more. Counting using 1:1 correspondence and consolidating touch say and move objects when counting.
Threading beads of up to 20 or more to make a necklace for Queen Sparkle to wear to the ball.
Again using the same techniques for counting as above.
Singing a variety of counting rhymes and acting the rhymes out.
Physical Development.
Development of gross motor control -crawling and crawling soldiers. Fine motor control development- dressing and undressing themselves for PE.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
Ict- using a computer mouse to operate a Science simulator on growing plants and what they need to grow.
Forest schools, looking at colours of Spring flowering bulbs and naming them in Welsh. Looking inside a bulb, talking about what a plant needs to thrive. Planting bulbs in our infant yard and allotment. Planting some in glass jars with water to watch them grow in class in the investigation area.
Science. Weather and seasons- what is weather? Observing the different types of weather. What do you wear for different types of weather? Dress up appropriately. Selecting appropriate reading texts to help us with finding out about weather. Looking at non fiction texts.
Creative Development.
Finish the paintings of the giraffe and the pelly and me from Roald Dahl week.
Draw Queen and King Sparkle's castle using 3 or more connected shapes. Colour the picture in.
Personal and Social Education.
Cooperative play skills.
Playing in a small group jigsaw puzzles. Counting the jig saw puzzle pieces using 1:1 correspondence. Saying why they were able to complete the task successfully. Discuss- What did they do to help others in the group?
Enhanced provision in all classroom areas.
Welsh Language.
Incidental Welsh throughout the day.
Also.
Making colours. Coch mixed with glas makes porffor.
PLEASE LABEL ALL DRINKS BOTTLES AND CLOTHING. WE STILL HAVE JUMPERS AND CARDIGANS WITH NO NAMES.
PLEASE ENSURE CHILDREN ARE SUITABLE DRESSED FOR OUTDOOR WORK WITH REGARDS TO THE WEATHER AS WE WILL BE GOING OUT FOR FOREST SCHOOLS LEARNING.
