The Last Week of April

April is flying by and we are preparing for the last week of the month.

Our activities this week are based around the story 'The Night Pirates'.

In language sessions we will be making a pirate passport.

In mathematics we will be counting in 10s and ordering numbers. We will also continue to explore 3D shapes.

Our Knowledge and Understanding of the World work will be linked to our creative work as we will be following instructions to make a pirate hat which we will decorate.

In PSE we will play a pirate treasure hunt game to reinforce our understanding of the importance of turn taking.

During a music session this week we will learn the song 'When I Was One'.

Our PE lessons will focus on throwing beanbags accurately. Hopefully the weather will be dry enough to go outside for this activity.

We have a special treat this week in Welsh. A group of Welsh speakers will be visiting school to take part in 'Welsh is Magic'. In preparation for their visit we will be learning some songs and practising some new vocabulary. We also need to make some bunting to use in their performance.

Forest School work this week will link to our mathematical focus as we will be going on a hunt to find numbered treasure chests and ordering them.

ICT will involve us drawing a pirate wearing a pirate hat.
