Lots going on!

We went on a spring walk and looked for signs of spring. We found lots of signs of new life.
Crocuses

Primroses

Daffodils

Buds growing on trees.

We found out the air is getting warmer and in spring sometimes we don't need to wear our coats.
We used our photographs to make factual books about spring and wrote our own captions beneath the photographs.

To participate in Waste Week we watched a video of the Wombles collecting rubbish on Wimbledon Common and reusing many of the things they found. Then we went on a walk around our school to look for places where our waste materials are put.
The Infants put their rubbish in the frog bin.

The Juniors put their rubbish in the bear bin.

The teachers recycle plastic in the staffroom.

We found a compost bin full of dead plants, grass and the remains of fruit.

Recycled paper in the IT room.

Here is where Mr Protheroe puts all the rubbish at the end of each day.

We learnt a great deal about waste materials and recycling. We are now looking forward to using new bins next term which will help us reduce waste and increase recycling.
