CHINESE NEW YEAR 2015

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend, the Winter sun has made an appearance, and although cold, at least it is dry and crisp!
In the lead up to half term, we will be completing activities relating to Chinese New Year. Activities include;

  • Listening to the story of the years
  • Writing about the year the children were born in
  • Making number sentences
  • Recognising that when objects move, there are still the same number there
  • Making stir fry
  • Making coconut balls
  • Choosing appropriate resources to make a sheep
  • Playing Welsh games, to become familiar with the Welsh names of the animals that took part in the race.
  • FOREST SCHOOL - Attaching wishes to oranges and throw them up the tree
  • PE - practising Chinese dance
We will be having a Chinese party on Friday 13th February at 2.00pm. Children may wear party clothes or traditional Chinese costumes. Parents and grandparents are invited.
Can all children make a musical instrument that they can use during the dance. Please send these into school by Wednesday 11th February? Thanks

We have organised to take the children to the Chinese restaurant in the Red Dragon Centre on Wednesday 11th February. A letter with further information on will be sent out tomorrow.

I have left the High Frequency Words in school, so will post the focus words on the blog tomorrow evening.

As always, any problems, please come and see me. See you all tomorrow :)
