What's going on over the next few weeks...?

Our activities next week will be related to the story 'The Snow Bears'. Activities will include:

  • Taking away - eg if the bear has ten pieces of toast and eats one piece, how many pieces will he have left?
  • Recognising properties of 2d shapes, the Bears have filled their cave with shapes, can the children reach in for a shape, describe its properties and match it to the same shape?
  • Recognising that as we grow we change and can do more. Children will use photos from home and stick them in chronological order, discussing how they have changed
  • Play Barrier Games, this develops children's questioning, answering and listening skills
  • Make a rice bear, recognising the change in ingredients and discussing whether the change is reversible or not
  • To make a 3d bear out of clay. Children will work on molding the clay and making the correct shaped and sized pieces to make the bear
  • ICT - drawing bears and using the 'fill' tool on 2simple to complete it
  • PE - Week 1: Straight shapes. Week 2: Star shapes
  • FOREST SCHOOL - children will make 2d clay bears using natural for his features
  • PROBLEM SOLVING - following the clues to work out which piece of numicon they need
  • FOCUS HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS - I, in, is, it, he
The children are all working hard and having fun whilst learning. As usual, if anyone has any concerns please come and see me.
