We have all had a great day in school on Friday. We were all very comfortable! Please look at the photos on the main school Blog.

Our Christmas rehearsals are well under way. If you haven't had a letter telling you what your child is in the concert please see me on Monday. All of the children were asked if they wanted to speak in the concert. If they said 'yes', they have a line, if they said 'no', they haven't!

We are in the process of making 'Santa's Grotto'. We hope it will be up and running by the end of next week. To keep our little elves busy in the grotto making presents for Santa to deliver we would appreciate any donations of wrapping paper, sellotape, boxes, ribbon and anything else you can think of.

Over the next two weeks, as well as continuing with Christmas preparations we will also be completing activities associated with the story ' The Polar Bear and the Snow Cloud'. They will include:

•               Writing a caption about friendship and their best friend.

•               A hunt around the grounds of the school looking for sets of friends. Eg, they will have a picture of Peppa Pig, the children will have to listen to the rhyme, think who her friend could be and follow the instructions to find her friend

•               A sorting activity. The children will have to sort animals according to colour or size and then according to colour and size

•               A science activity. Children will look at water and an ice cube. They will be asked questions about the water and ice cube to try and establish how the water changes to ice and the ice changes to water. They will then make some sparkly ice cubes

•               A colour activity. The children will be shown a winter picture. They will be asked how they know its a winter picture before discussing the colours used. They will then make different shades of blue before making their own winter picture

•               Christmas Hats. Children will make a snow flake hat ready for Christmas Dinner

•               Lanterns. Children will make lanterns that we will take carol singing around the school closer to Christmas

Next week the children will be bringing their 'Diva's' home with them. Divas are candle holders that are used during the festival of Diwali (tea light holders). Please note that the divas are made out of paper clay so please use a battery tea lights in the divas.
