For those pupils following set 2 RWI sounds, I would suggest completing a writing activity first before the speed sounds session at 10am.

As Mrs.Harries has said, this is only a suggested timetable to help structure and support home learning activities. If you already have a routine in place, please don't change it. 

Language, Literacy & Communication 

 

Read the story again together and talk about it.  

• What veggies did Supertato rescue? How?
• How did Supertato catch Evil Pea in the end?

• What was your favourite part and why? 

This half term we will be looking at 'posters' for our writing genre.
Talk about:

• What is a poster? 
• What different types of poster you can have.
• Here are some examples:

• When you go out for a walk, have a look to see if there are any examples of a poster in your local area.

Evil Pea has escaped from the freezer again!! Can you help Supertato and make a 'WANTED' poster to help catch him? Talk about what you would include on a wanted poster. How much will your reward be? You can create your own or use these templates to help you:

Mathematical Development

• Continue to practise counting in different steps, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s. Can you count from different starting points? Ask a grown up to count and miss out a number - can you guess or write down the missing number? 
• Continue your work on money - practise finding 1 more and 1 less. Can you make that amount using coins?  

• Practise your adding using fruit and vegetables:

Fruit roll and colour 

• Make a pictogram to show your family/friends' favourite fruit or vegetables. Login to HWB and click:

Click on the 'pictogram' tab along the top. There is a pre-made fruit one that you can use or you can create your own by adding pictures. If you fancy a challenge, you could add the Welsh words for the fruit/vegetables. 
Remember to save your work. Talk about what your pictogram shows.

Other areas of learning
Knowledge & Understanding - If you can, start to grow some of your very own fruit or vegetables. What will you grow and how will you do it? What will you need to do to help them grow? 

Creative - This was Tal's great idea linked to our Supertato story : ) 
Make a picture using potato prints. Ask grown up to cut out some shapes and print your picture. Can you make a pattern?

Keep practising the weather phrases in Welsh. 

• Continue your weather chart for another week. Compare the weather for each day. What was it like last Monday? Are they the same or different?
