Image result for happy birthday UNCRC

This week marks the 30th anniversary of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This was the starting point for establishing universal rights for all children and young people around the World.

The Super Ambassadors and their Rights Rangers have decided that Penygawsi Primary should celebrate the upcoming birthday by carrying out a range of activities which highlight certain articles that they believe the children of Penygawsi should be aware of. Please see the main blog for further information about the rights celebration.

The right that we will be looking at in Y Garth is:

The children will be choosing their favourite games  and rotating around a carousel both in and outdoors to celebrate their 'right to play'. Following our games, we will be returning to class to have a slumber session to celebrate their 'right to relax'. Please can children bring a dressing gown and slippers to wear for the session on Friday? If they don't have any slippers, cosy socks will be fine. Please can you send them in a bag clearly labelled with their name?

Home-School Task 27/11/19
Thank you for returning the decorated book covers, the children have done a fantastic job and enjoyed sharing them with their friends this week. They are going to look great in our reading garden : )

The focus for the home-school task this week is numeracy. The children have brought home a special  case with a number workbook inside. Have fun working through the book together at home. Practise reading and writing the numbers and answering the questions. The children can keep the cases and workbooks, you don't need to send them back in. Have fun!
