This will run in a similar way to our successful term in the Spring where we focused on a STEM approach. This term will be a STEAM approach with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths focus.
Well being will be paramount through the theme too.
This week we are investigating the question What does ‘Together Stronger’ mean to us? Here are some of our activities for this week.
We have already discussed that it’s about working together in lots of different ways.
We also talked about how we could work together to learn and create interesting art, dance and music work. Some children would like to paint pictures of people in their class showing their strengths, compose music, sing and work together to make a dance.
We are investigating the words Stronger and Strength by investigating how breaking a blade of grass is easier than breaking a bunch of grass, making a tower of books and a tower from a sheet of paper and seeing which is the easiest to knock down looking at the reasons why.
We will be playing tug of war and working out how we can make a strong team.
Identifying what strengths people have and relating them to our own strengths.
Filling a confidence jar of our own and working out what we would like to develop.
We will also be writing news, doing our usual letter and number formation and sorting and classifying things and guided reading.
Many thanks,
Mrs James and Mrs Farrell.
