*learning about the story of Rama and Sita, creating freeze frames to retell the story.
*adding sets of of objects, including objects related to Diwali.
*Making 'paper plate' and play dough divas and learning why they are used during Diwali.
*Copying actions and dancing along to a Diwali dance.
*Following instructions to make a Diwali drink 'mango lassi'. The ingredients are plain yoghurt, milk, fresh mango, caster sugar. If you do not wish your child to drink this drink in school, please inform one of us at the door as soon as possible.
*investigating light sources
*the opportunity to colour rangoli patterns and make Diwali cards.
As well as Read Write Inc, writing workshop, CLIC, guided reading and Christmas concert practise... WOW! What a busy week!
Home Learning Task
Look for different sources of light around your home and in the local area. Encourage the children to take photos of these light sources, print them out and bring them into school. If you are unable to print photos, make a list of the different light sources you have found.
