An overview of work for the next two weeks.
Language: understand the Christian story of creation and be able to retell it.
Christian creation story listen to it and read it, sequence the story cut outs in collaboration with others. Match the ordinal numbers to the illustrations.

be aware of the world around us...
Look out of the window activity what can you see? Name it and describe it and give an opinion of it. Create a list of wow words.
Talk about the world around them- Finding Earths treasures: go outside and collect a variety of natural objects from outside and photocopy them. Take photographs of the ones they can’t collect using an iPad. Discuss what you like about them and why they were chosen. Write about why you think they are special? Generate a collection of wow words.
Listen and look at the Islamic creation story…how is it different? Discuss and sequence it in collaboration with others.

Writing news. What have they done on the weekend? Think about sentence construction, capital letters, finger spaces, full stop, writing on the lines, sounding out words and identifying sounds/letters in words.
Write a letter to Father Christmas to post it.
School trip 4th December 2018 to Brecon Mountain Railway. Packed lunch and suitable clothing needed. Green screen record their responses to the trip after they have been. What did they think of their experiences? How did they feel?

Days of the week: Sequence the days of the week and learn the days of the week song.

Read the story of Christmas -Talk about the light of the star and link to light from Diva lamps- Diwali.
Discuss sources of light and create a list of children’s responses.
Show children an advent candle and discuss how this marks the time before the birth of Jesus (Advent means arrival or coming). Set up a class Advent calendar and use this each day to mark each day closer to Christmas.
Music.
Learn the song- Our god is so big and create actions to go with it.
Who put the colours in the rainbow?
PSE children’s rights what are they? Why are they important to us? what does love, family and school mean to us? What do they look like? Make a rights bauble for the tree.
Creative. Make a Christmas craft linked to the creation story- on the 4th day….sun moon and stars decorations from bread.
Make a tin can bulb holder. Decorate with hessian and string link to plant life and growth when God created plants and land on the 3rd day.
ICT Make an iBook on the story of creation and publish it to the school magazine.
