Week 3 and 4 Spring Term.

Here are some of our learning tasks for the the next two weeks. 

Focused Tasks. 

Mathematical Development. 

Book- One More Sheep. 

Maths Activities:

Look at the farm picture and tally up the animals on the farm. 

Count the farm objects and write down the number with correct orientation. 

Sort the animals game giving reasons for your criterion. 

Sequence the illustrations for the nursery rhymes Baa Baa Black Sheep and Mary had a little lamb. 

Introducing subtraction and vocabulary for subtraction- play the game the farmers lost his sheep game. 

Subtraction number sentences using animal resources. 

Sing and sign ba ba black sheep. 

Formation of numbers -13,14,15. 

Language Development.

Book - Little Lamb

Language Activities:

Onset and rime- 'eep' - sheep beep keep sleep deep weep steep jeep peep.

Learn the nursery rhymes Baa Baa black sheep and Mary had a little lamb.

Odd one out rhyming game. 

Formation of cursive letters. Handwriting carousel everyday. C o a g d introduce l 

Watch and story write - Watch an episode of CBeebies Timmy, discuss the story and collectively draw a storyboard with a teacher. Sequence the storyboard of  the story in their books. Say why they like or disliked it. 

Creative Development. 

Making black and white sheep collage with wool. 

Pastel work: draw a sheep, cow or a chicken for our farm display. 

Music Singing hands songs ba ba black sheep, Old Mac Donald had a Farm. 5 Little Ducks. 

Knowledge and Understanding Development.

All about- Sheep. Naming young, male female. Where to they live? What do they eat? What do we have from sheep? 

Baking- Make pig and sheep biscuits. 

Physical Development. 

PE Farmyard activity stations. 

Fine motor control.  Wool wrapping to make Pom poms. 

Begin DEST Assessments.

Enhanced tasks. 

Writing Area. 

Send a letter to Baa Baa Black Sheep asking to buy some wool. Include cursive script, capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. 

Maths Area. 

Playing snakes and ladders game. 

Sand Area. 

Find the farm animals and place them in size order. Count them and write the number down. 

Water Area. 

Fill the jugs half full to give to the horses. 

How many jugs does it take to fill the bucket? 

Creative Area. 

Paint a picture of a farm animal. 

Malleable Area. 

Make pigs and sheep in dough. 

Construction Area.  

Build a farm with 4 fields. 

Place a total of 11 animals in your farm. 

Light box Area. 

Make a farm scene/animal with sticks and Pebbles. 

Reading Area. 

Read an animal book and say why you like it. 

Computer Area. 

Draw a farm animal in 2 simple and name it by typing. Write your own name as the illustrator and author. 

Use beebot and navigate it around the farm and village.
