High Frequency Words.

Over the past two weeks I have been assessing high frequency words (yellow sight words that were sent home for your child to learn to read). We practice these words daily in school. 

Being able to read these words gives the children a huge advantage when reading books and writing. 

Please can you help your child to have 5 minutes daily practice on these words at home. If you need another copy of the words then please let me know. 

It's been wonderful to see the children's reaction who have accomplished the reading of these words. Lots have jumped from not being able to read any words in October to reading all or most of the words within 5 months. 

I will hand out the Year 1 high frequency words to those children who are ready for them during parents evening.
