Anti bullying week.

It's been anti bullying week at Penygawsi this week and at the beginning of the week we had an assembly to explain what it all means. 

We have been learning through Sam. Sam could be Samuel or Samantha and could represent any one of us. 

We made two avatars of Sam. We voted for how we thought Sam should look. 

We then perfomed role play and I played a bully and pretended to be nasty and bullied Miss Key. We talked about how Miss Key felt. 

Following that we worked as a group and said what we could do to help Sam who was feeling bullied.

We also have cut out our chosen picture of Sam and a speech bubble and have written what Sam would say because he's/she's being bullied. 

I'll take some photos of this work on Monday. 

Our School Council have been working with the children's commissioner for Wales and have been allocated a task. I believe that some of our work alongside our peers work will be sent off for her to see. 

The children were very mature when discussing how someone would feel if they were bullied and had some great ideas to help. This work is vital at this age and helps to develop inclusive thinking. Ask your child about Sam and the work we've done this week, you could show them the pictures.
