Another busy week!

The children have been working very hard again this week. They are all trying so hard with letter recognition, formation, building of CVC words and practising the high frequency words.  Please keep up the practise at home. Continue to practise the letters and words that you already have and add in the new ones each week, especially the high frequency words as they can be quite tricky and we hope they will recognise these, without building and at speed.

Christmas has truly begun. We have been in the hall to find out where will be sitting and how big our voices need to be! Please practise the lines at home, we encourage loud, expressive voices.

We learned about long and short and tall and short in our maths focused tasks. We also rehearsed these skills through our play, making tall and short buildings in construction and tall and short castles in the sand.

We worked on activities linked to our book 'Best Friends or Not'. We talked about the qualities of friends and started to make mobiles. We will base our activities on this book next week too.

We are starting to build our Christmas role-play area in class, an Elves' Workshop. We would be grateful if you could bring in any christmas wrapping paper and tags spare from last year so our elves can be set to work, busily wrapping and organising all of Santa's presents ready for Christmas Eve.

Have a good weekend.
