Our topic this term is 'Wiggle, Crawl & Dig'. We will be learning about lots of things to do with the garden. We will be looking at what happens as the seasons change, what bugs and insects we see in the garden, how to look after plants and much more.
We will be spending the first half term looking at growing plants, fruits and vegetables. The second half term will will be more about the creatures in the garden.
As usual, each fortnight, I will give you more specific information about what tasks the children will be completing.
PE remains the same days this half term. Please bring trainers on PE days as we will be practising for Sports Day very soon. As Sports Day draws closer, (a date will be confirmed early in the term on the main blog) we will practise more regularly, so please keep an eye on the blog as you may be asked to bring trainers in more often.
As this half term is six weeks long, snack money of £6 is now required. Prompt payment would be appreciated.
We will start our work this half term by learning about spring time. Activities will include:
- Writing a Spring poem, using our senses to help
- Using and understanding positional language
- Problem solving
- Becoming spring detectives - children will take magnifying glasses out, looking for signs of spring
- Children will prepare the forest area for all of the animals to come out of hibernation. They will go litter picking, (wearing gloves) and throw bird seed on the ground
- Make butterflies, rabbits and bees out of junk material to include in our spring display
- Children will become familiar with the Welsh phrase 'Wyt ti'n hoffi...'
- Make Spring smelly pots in Forest School
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, don't forget we have an inset day on Monday. So, we will see you on Tuesday :)
