What's going on this fortnight?

This fortnight our activities are all relating to the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'. Activities include:

  • Writing a list of what the children would like if Mrs Grinling made some lunch for them
  • Ordering sequence of events
  • Sort and count piles of coins and work out how many more are needed to make a given number
  •  Look at a selection of books - story book, non-fiction books and cooking books. Children will be asked about similarities and differences between the books before making sea side biscuits and ordering the sentences according to the method used
  • After receiving a letter from the Inspectors of Lighthouses informing the children of their concern about the unhealthy foods Mr Grinling eats at lunchtime. The children will sort healthy from unhealthy foods and label them so Mr Grinling is more aware what foods he should be eating
Children will also begin to practise for Sports Day. Whilst the field is so muddy, they will use the nursery yard.

Mrs Bannister should be returning to school on Monday 19 May. In her absence the children have been well looked after and taught by Mrs Daniels.

Should anyone have any concerns please come and see me in the Nursery.

Thank you for your continued support

Mrs Francis:)
