We have
finished our Chinese New Year celebrations and we are about to begin our St
David's Day work, in preparation for our eisteddfod after half term. Our main
story will be 'Woolly Wendy and the Snowdon Lily'. Activities include:
•
Hot seating Woolly Wendy
•
Handwriting competition for St David's Day by writing part of the story
of ‘Woolly Wendy’
•
Drawing Snowdon lilies using pastels as art entries for St David's Day
•
Completing a display on the story 'Woolly Wendy and the Snowdon Lily'
•
Choosing equipment to take on a trek up a mountain - before walking up
the hill in the school grounds!
•
Making welsh cakes - with emphasis on weighing the ingredients. Children
will use a pan balance to ensure correct amount of ingredients are used
•
Begin to learn about the passing of time by doing activities for 1
minute
•
Planting our own seeds - remembering the importance of looking after
plants
•
Forest school - creating mud paintings of a Snowdon lily
Don't forget
the home school task of making zoo animal masks to be used in our zoo role-play
area.
Please can I
remind you to pay your snack money of £7, if you have not yet done so. We need this money to buy snacks for
the children as well as some extra resources for all the nice activities we do.
Many Thanks
Mrs Bannister
