We have all enjoyed completing our activities relating to 'The  Very Hungry Caterpillar'. Our very own baby caterpillars arrived last Thursday. The children have enjoyed watching them grow, they have grown surprisingly quickly. We have removed the caterpillars from the discovery area now, as they are trying to climb to the top of the pots to start spinning their cocoon. We are hoping that by the time we come to school on Monday we will see some cocoons - how exciting!

Our activities for next week are related to the story 'Down by the cool of the pool'. The story is all about frogs. Our activities will include:

•               Sequencing the life cycle of a frog 

•               Making a pond out of jelly - looking at the change of ingredients

•               Subtracting bugs that the frog eats

•               Directing the bee-bot around a pond - using directional language

•               A footprint hunt - children will be given pictures of animals/ mini beasts found. In the garden and will be encouraged to search for the matching footprints

•               Barrier game - children will have a selection of different frogs and will have to ask the teacher questions about their frogs to work out which matching frog the teacher has.

Hopefully the weather will hold out so we can have sports day on Monday 24^th June.
