It was lovely to see so many of you at the fete on Saturday. It was a great day, and thankfully the weather was very good to us. Unfortunately, the forecast for this week is rain, rain and more rain! Please ensure the children have waterproofs in school so that we can get out when we can.
Over the next couple of weeks our activities include:
- Using a writing frame to help, children will write individual stories following the format of ‘Sally’s Limpet’.
- Problem solving activity – Sally is allowed an ice-cream from the kiosk. There are 4 flavours to choose from, she is allowed 2 scoops. I wonder how many different combinations she could have?
- Sort living and non-living things we find at the sea-side, before compiling a list
- Capacity – comparing by direct comparison - which container has the most water in it. Predicting which container holds the most water in it and working out how we can test our predictions.
- Choosing appropriate ingredients to make jelly rock pools
- Discuss the differences between Llantrisant and Penarth (after our trip), by looking at and sorting pictures taken of the two places. Compile a list of the buildings we find in Llantrisant compared to Penarth.
- Cutting out fish and other sea creatures to make a marine mobile
- Create an ‘art attack’ of an underwater scene.
Hopefully, we will get a Sports day and with a bit of luck the sun will make an appearance for our trip next Tuesday. As always, if anyone has any concerns please come in and see us.
Many thanks for your support
