The children were all fantastic yesterday, despite the rain they all ran very well. We will continue with our sports one sunny afternoon soon.

For the next two weeks all of our activities will be based on the story 'The Enormous Watermelon'. For those of you not familiar with the story, it is another take on 'The Enormous Turnip'. Our activities will include tasting melons, role-play of the story, making fruit salad, planting seeds in sand, stones and soil to see which one grows best and why and looking at what 3d shapes we can find in fruits and vegetables. We area also going to paper mache a balloon into a watermelon. If you have any old newspapers please could you send them in so that we can use them to paper mache with.

We are looking for a lamp shade to put up in our home corner. If anyone has one they are no longer using, we would be very grateful for it.

We are all looking forward to our trip. Thanks to those of you that offered to come with us. We will let you know early next week how many we can take with us.
